Whereas standard ChipShop connectors only accept soft-walled tubing, this set of connectors allows connecting any 1/16" OD rigid tubing to a ChipShop chip.
Suitable for rigid tubing (PTFE, PEEK, etc.) with an OD of 1/16" (1.6 mm). Manufactured in blue TPE, max. pressure of 3.2 bar with a 1/16" OD PEEK tubing.
Plugs to block unused ports are also available in our shop.

The fiber sensor cell culture chip Fluidic 1611 features two identical units per chip. Each unit consists of two interconnected rhombic chambers for cell cultivation as well as a sensor port up- and downstream of the cultivation chambers. By measuring crucial parameters, one can draw conclusions on the cell viability or metabolic activity of the chosen (adherent) cell line. The fiber sensor chip family is only recommended for low-pressure applications, in order to avoid leakage at the sensor ports. If you don’t need all of the sensor ports, we recommend to close them with our Mini Luer plugs or Mini Luer caps in TPE.
The sensor ports are compatible with PreSens Sensor Plugs, which consist of a Mini Luer interface, an optical fiber for read-out and a specific sensor at the tip of the fiber. The sensors are pre-calibrated and can be adapted directly on the microfluidic channels, to get in direct contact with the fluid pathway. This allows continuous monitors of various parameters like pH levels, and dissolved O2 and CO2 concentrations.

If some sensor ports are not used for an experiment, it is recommended to close them with Mini Luer plugs or caps in TPE.
Note: The SensorPlugs are not provided with the chips.
This sensor chip is particularly useful when you need a tool for small-scale cell culture studies that also lets you measure cellular behavior in real time. The interconnected rhombic chambers ensure your culture conditions can be controlled precisely. Sensor ports make parameter tracking fast and direct, so you get reliable results faster. Transparent construction helps with visual inspection at all stages. You can choose between PS and Topas materials to match your experiment’s physical or chemical needs.

The device is ideal when you want to avoid membrane interference and want clear, untinted access to cell cultures. The chip’s format suits those who want repeatable experiments with minimized handling errors.
