Whereas standard ChipShop connectors only accept soft-walled tubing, this set of connectors allows connecting any 1/16" OD rigid tubing to a ChipShop chip.
Suitable for rigid tubing (PTFE, PEEK, etc.) with an OD of 1/16" (1.6 mm). Manufactured in blue TPE, max. pressure of 3.2 bar with a 1/16" OD PEEK tubing.
Plugs to block unused ports are also available in our shop.
The chip features 4 independent experimental chambers designed for the trapping of large particles. The chambers display a height of 500 µm, a total volume capacity of 30 µL and barriers of 40 µm height on both sides. This chamber is accessible through 2 standard Luer connectors. An additional channel is connecting the chamber, by passing the barriers, on the side. At the end of this channel is a Large Luer Opening, for the introduction of the large particles. For two of the designs per chip, this larger interface has an additonal piercing structure to rupture sealed tanks or alike. These specific interfaces can not be used with standard Male Luer connectore. However, they are compatible with male Luer tanks such as Fluidic 933 and 639. To close these interfaces, it is recommended to use plugs such as Fluidic 270 and 1223 or caps Fluidic 1231.
With this design, it is thus possible to introduce large particle through the side channel into the experimental chamber. They will be confined in this chamber thanks to the barriers on both ends. Smaller particles, though, can pass through the chamber and are not retained.

ChipShop chips are convenient, cost-effective, and reliable for all your experiments:
